Drivetrain
The Yamaha FJ1250 engine used in our Legends Modified produces approximately 150hp which is enough to get the back end to slide through the corners Minor work has been done to the motor to produce more horsepower and reliability compared to the Asphalt Legend Car motor. These cars have a water cooling sleeve around the pistons and a larger camshaft which means more power and longer life.
From the engine there is a driveshaft adapter where the chain drive system would be if this motor were still in a bike. From the motor, the power is taken through the driveshaft to a quick change rear end with live axles. Because the gears in the transmission case are always going to be what they are now, we change out the gear in the differential to ensure maximum power down the straightaways.

Safety
The Legend Modifieds are an extremely exciting car to drive, they are also very dangerous because of the open wheel design and close racing that comes about when running on dirt. The creators of the Legends Modified recognized this and made this car one of the safest you can get yourself into. The driver compartment of the car is very large, large enough that nearly anyone can fit in the car comfortably and safely. Each car is required to have a full containment seat to help better protect the driver. The side windows and roof were also created large enough so that even the larger drivers could escape in the event they flipped and landed on the roof or their side. Because there was a risk of wheels and other components of other cars entering the cockpit, the creators of this car built other parts of the car larger than the opening to keep each car out of the other cars. Every car is also fitted with a fuel cell which has a much higher tolerance to punctures and flames than a fuel tank. Each driver is required fire retardent safety gear from head to toe, a head and neck restraint, and arm restraints to provide maximum protection to the driver in the event of a crash.
